Goomeri and Kilkivan each have their own P-10 school, swimming pool, hotel/motel, caravan park, cafes & restaurants, convenience and food stores, petrol outlets, golf club, bowling club & newsagency, parks and showgrounds as well as various sporting associations including swimming, cricket, basketball, touch football and tennis.

Goomeri is the Gateway to the South Burnett Wine District with some of the largest vineyards and wineries in Queensland through to smaller boutique cellar doors.

Goomeri has a number of attractions including the Goomeri Show which is held over two days at the Goomeri Showgrounds every March, the Goomeri-Manumbar Campdraft which is held in October most years, the Lions Christmas Carnival and the most popular event of the year is the Goomeri Pumpkin Festival which is held on the last Sunday in May every year. The festival attracts in excess of 10,000 people and the highlight of the day is the Great Pumpkin Roll down Policemans Hill.

Kilkivan also has a number of attractions including the weekly Sunday Markets where you can purchase fresh produce, the Kilkivan Great Horse Ride which is held each April and attracts close to 1,000 horses and riders, the Kilkivan Campdraft which is held each May, the Kilkivan Beef Festival which is held in late September and the Christmas Carnival.
